A native of North Carolina, Mikaela Curry is an environmental specialist, poet and social activist. Having spent most of her early career working in various scientific fields, she is a published poet who has performed her poetry at conferences, universities, vigils, rallies, and even once shared a stage with noted activist Angela Davis. Now residing in southeastern KY, she continues to share her work which reflects her passion for gender equality, environmental health and social justice in all aspects of life. She is a community organizer as well as the founder and manager of a community poetry organization.
